Back in da North!

I got here (in GR) last Thursday. SO happy to be back!! I still have 5 months of holiday before work begins but it is nice being here in the wide open, wintery spaced goodness... My cousin, Steph, came with me and is staying for a visit until Mar. 8th. I think it has already blown her away- as I have heard her say on a number of occasions- "Dude, you LIVE here!"

Last night she wanted to take a "Kangiqsualujjuaq by night" photo despite the dip in the otherwise unseasonably warm temps, hovering around -30 without windchill. After we got on the road, and had the machine sufficiently warmed I dropped her near the trees to get some pictures. Totally unexpectedly the northern lights also made a few flickers as well, which really pumped her!

With the forecast the way in looks right now, I am not very sure whether next weekend will be tent camping or cabin camping, but either way, it looks like it will be something exotic, fun, and different at least, so adventure travel Steph will be satisfied. Another cousin arrives two weeks after Steph leaves, so I have my work as tour guide also cut out for me in the next few.
