Weekend ALREADY?

This week was insanely fast for some reason. Especially for a week that was a full 5 days long. The reason escapes me. Maybe it was the "Judy-factor", since I was always fairly awake and eager for the evenings, since we went for a few walks, chatted and had sushi supper one night. I really enjoy talking to her, getting insights into teaching and bouncing thoughts and concerns off her. She is always a GREAT sport, despite it being often at the end of a LONG LONG day!!

Maybe it was also that April and I started our twice a week, "Drop Everything and Walk" program... So, on Tuesday and Thursday we went for walks. Thursdays was actually really nice, down past her house, past the beach and around the side of the George River. I LOVE the sound of the waves on the sand and despite it being dusk and a bit hard to see on the way back, it was SUCH a great backdrop for a walk! Days are getting markedly shorter and before long we had better have a frosting of snow everywhere or else I will feel like I have been ripped off royally! Short days and no skidooing?!?!? Hardly fair!

Not much on the go this evening, talked to Nancy who is very busy with a potluck at the Daycare and also a fundraising event at the school. April has been plagued with a persistent and annoying headache, which will HOPEFULLY go away tonight or else they might want to medivac her to Kuujjuaq to see the doctor. Krystal has a new room-mate for a month (a grad student who is studying climate change) but will be joining us later for a games night. And well, other than going to Pascal and Maite's for board games, I don't have much planned for the weekend. I REALLY hope April is feeling better tomorrow (so she doesn't have to be in bed all weekend!!) and also so we can maybe go for a walk if it is nice tomorrow.

Other than that, my only goal this weekend is to start watching Season 2 of "LOST". To give you some background, when I visited Andrea Gorsky this summer, and we were out shopping, she introduced me to "Season 1 of LOST"... We went on a Marathon and within maybe 5 days I watched 20 something episodes... It was SO exciting and I really got into it a lot. Unless you watch the series in order and see the first episode especially it can be confusing, so if you want to try to check it out, PLEASE invest in either downloading or buying the Season 1 and doing it in order like I am... You'll be happy you did! Anyway, enough of the commercial! I ordered the second season a few weeks ago from Amazon and it arrived two days ago. I held out for a few days and think I will begin with an episode tonight... or two... and will hopefully have completed at least two disks by the end of the weekend...

Can't wait to see Sawyer, and find out what is in the "hatch"... Have a nice Friday evening and Saturday!!! Oh and just to let you know, my class blog seems to be running pretty well. Getting the students to write (despite all of the errors) is a neat experience. They seem to enjoy it a lot!

Hey!

I think I am over medicated, I have been up since 6 am running around the house like a maniac!! Half cleaning, half mooning over the sunrise, it's the first I've seen.....sober....in a few years. It's just after 8 now and I am actually thinking of going for a walk!! WHATEVER!! I must be bi-polar. However, my headache, although not gone, is much better, I got to eat something this morning, hooray! You watch, by noon I'll be out like a light.

Talk to you soon,
A.

April sounds like so much fun--that walking idea is a good one-- for me, it will remain at the idea stage--

Nan- you are perceptive about A. The funny part is when I read her comment, I can hear the mile a minute speed she would have said the same thing over the phone and it cracks me up completely... When we go for a walk, I am sure people on the street get tired out watching how quickly both of our jaws are flapping... but it just cracks me up...Ahhh, good times...

For the walking thing... it can easily remain in the idea stage, we talked about it maybe two weeks before starting... what you need is another person to buy into the idea who will bug everytime you are supposed to go so that it is easier to go than sit and watch Dr. Phil... LOL!

I was waiting for someone to ask about those mini choco bars... Yep, they've been done for a couple days... Can't believe it...

I really like the walks for the social time (as well as the health benefits) but mostly for the chance to talk and get to know more about people... When you are talking with them in a house or classroom afterschool there always seems to be so much to do and distract from rea conversation.... However, with April, her and I are talk-a-holics so we seem to do our fair share of talking amidst busy work! hahaha
