Blah blah blah...
I know it is only the third week of school but I am just exhausted. Monday night I woke up every hour, it was so hot that I was tossing and turning. I can't seem to get the heat out of my house, even though i have the fan running 24-7 and many of the windows opened. I guess I will be happy that this new apartment holds in the heat when it is minus 50 outside!
Tuesday morning, I was quite dizzy when I woke up. I wasn't sure if it was because of the horrid sleep I had experienced, but I just didn't feel right. Occasionally when I stood up, my eyes would kind of spin for a few seconds before focussing. Very odd! I was kind of worried so I called the nursing station and went in during my free period after recess. After the check-up, I was given antibiotics and told I had believe that otitis, an type of ear infection in my right ear.
At school, things were not much better- a few classrooms, including mine, have had an overheating problem, where the heat is turned all the way off but it is still 30 degrees inside. The kids are rather grumpy and have trouble concentrating as a result. Not really the most fun environment to teach in. At the end of today I was so wiped out that I didn't even stay to prep and photocopy. I simply had to get out of there. I came home and crashed for an hour on the couch. Fast asleep within a second of sitting down.
I can hardly believe it is only Tuesday... And I think how can I ever make it through this week????

Hope you're feeling better soon-- those are horrid teaching conditions-- and learning--- In Australia, they send the kids home when it's too hot!! Makes sense- no one can function, let alone concentrate in those conditions!!Thinking of you!!
Don't worry G you'll make it...Might not want to, but you will. It's not fun to work when you feel so rotten.. Feel better soon take care..

I feel so gross and exhausted but am optimistic that someting good will happen if I can just stick it through...

I have my fan set up, a cool cloth in hand and the window a bit more opened than usual... hey nan- I hear you are the queen of internet resources, feel free ANY time to pass on links that you know of... I wish ljlc would get off the queen of website kick-- she is remembering me BC-- now I am just a shell of my former self, albeit, larger shell, and will still need lots of help to face walking into a classroom again--- the thoughts alone send me into a panic--- ;)
Wow - hope you are feeling better soon, and hoping conditions in the classroom improve. Hard to believe it's so warm up there. Should be cooling off though.
Take care!
Yep, today was a lot cooler than the past few days... worst part is that buildings are so well insulated that they hold the heat in from June to September before the outdoors/open windows can cool it down...
Today the wind was coming from the north and right in my class windows so it was actually freezing... I didn't want to take the cool air for granted so I froze my butt off and enjoyed the change!!!
