Quick Thought (in my attempt to get back into blogging)

My friend and I discussed blogs the other day after a colleague decided to advertise his blog to the school staff, despite some rather unflattering entries about students, his view of teaching and managing a class. I read a few entries, and was kind of surprised that he would want thoughts like those to be made known to the rest of us.

My friend, M, said that his theory is that people who have blogs are ones that really love writing, like making it fancy, and trying to impress others with their compositional skills. I reminded him that I also had a blog, although I hadn't publicized it in the same way. So, I thought about it, and I guess that he has a point. I don't write purely for the information purposes that some science and tech blogs do, but I write because I like it, I like expressing what I am thinking in a fancier way than I would in an email update to a few friends and family. It's not reporting as much as painting the world, my world in a certain way for others to see.

It got me thinking. And thinking is good, especially when you are feeling a tad overwhelmed by the weekend, possibility of camping, and your report cards, which MUST be finished by Monday... Ugh...
