OH I FORGOT!!!

So, I discovered "PODCASTS" last night! Scary, there are millions available on any possible topic on iTunes. If you are wondering what I am talking about, it's basically a radio-style program or even TV show that is available for free usually to download and listen to or watch. In some cases, it's a weekly broadcasted show, like the LOST podcast where the producers talk about the show the day after the new episodes air, or sometimes it is a one time shot, lecture style presentation on a topic of interest.

So, last night I checked out the "Official LOST Podcast", a few church services from Evangel in Yarmouth, and also, some episodes of THE HOUR with George Stromboulopoulos from CBC. Now I am not new to that program, it is usually JUST starting at the time when I should technically be going to sleep. I have watched it a few night however, when I knew that I couldn't sleep anyway. I really, really, really like him and his show. I find George to be so REAL, down to earth, honest and cool about things. He seems genuinely interested in what people are doing and how they think and feel about things that are discussed on the show. What you see seems to be what you get, and I find that refreshing.

SO I was ecstatic to find that I didn't have to worry about staying up, I could simply subscribe to "The Hour" podcast, and automatically get the most recent interviews. SWEET! While checking out some past episodes, I saw and extremely amazing interview: from the 21st of March, when George sat down with Tony Campolo. Now, I have heard of Tony before, and in my head, all that seemed to stick with me was that he was an evangelist or reverend or something to do with church.

What I came to learn from this interview, was that his heart, focus, and view of Christianity was one that feels very meaningful to me. I am not really one that believes in the "extreme right wing" set of beliefs... I find them to be to agressive and short-sighted, lacking consideration often to the needs and feelings of the people they are claiming to want to help. Maybe this comes as a shock to people, but it's something that has never really agreed with me. I think in my beliefs maybe I am more liberal, and all I know is, the way that Tony Campolo presented christianity, is the way that I feel it is meant to be. I was pleasantly surprised that he wasn't a mouthy Evangelist who doesn't like to be disagreed with! Check out the interview if you want to (either by going to the link below, or dowloading the podcast from iTunes), I strongly encourage you to, and drop me a comment on YOUR impressions!
